Investigation Continues on Uber Driver Shot in Foot in Fayette County

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is investigating a non-fatal shooting that took place this past Sunday morning at a home on Brock Road, in northeast Fayette County.

The Sheriff's Office learned of the shooting via a call for staff at Mount Carmel West in Grove City, where the 28-year-old male shooting victim had gone for treatment for a gunshot wound to his foot.

The unidentified victim told investigators he worked as an Uber driver, and had driven two subjects from the Columbus area to the home located in the 16-hundred block of Brock Road. After dropping the two off at the home, the victim was then called back to the home to pick the same two people back up.

As the victim and his two passengers were exiting the home's driveway, gunshots were fired with several striking the the victim's vehicle. One of those penetrated the driver's side door and stuck the victim in the foot.

The victim said to investigators that he'd dropped off the two people in the car with him at the time of the shooting in the area of Stringtown Road before proceeding to the hospital.

Investigators identified the Brock Road home's resident as 43-year-old Joshua M. Hudson and a search warrant was executed at the address late Sunday morning with evidence believed to be related to the reported shooting located and collected by detectives.

Joshua Hudson as also arrested and charged with a single count of felonious assault. Detectives are still working to identify the two people that were with the victim during the shooting.
