One of the most difficult parts of social distancing is not being able to hug the ones you love. Sure, staying six feet apart is tough, but not as hard as resisting the urge to hold tight to family, friends and lovers. However, one very creative mom found a way that lets her parents embrace their grandkids, and she shared it on TikTok.
In the videos, Lauren Doris shows off the contraption she installed at her parents' house. It's a sheet of plastic covering the doorway, with plastic bags taped in the middle of it. Lauren's kids can stick their arms through the bags and hug their grandparents, or the grandparents can use them to hug their grandkids.
In the comments, Lauren explained that her mom is high-risk but this allows her to still hold her family.
The video has touched many people, having been liked over 300,000 times with comments like "heartwarming" and "This is beautiful. Made me cry. Kept away from my mum for six weeks to protect her and she died three weeks ago, never got to hug her."
