Hillsboro Mayor Candidate Questioned About Residency

The Highland County Board of Elections will hold a challenge hearing regarding the residency of a write-in candidate running for Hillsboro Mayor.

The Highland County Press recently questioned Anthony Weissman’s county residency to the Highland Board of Elections, providing records that the cast doubt on whether Weissman qualifies as a candidate.

Ohio Revised Code requires a mayoral candidate to reside in the city they're running in for at least one year prior. Records obtained by the online publication from October of 2018 had Weissman’s address listed in Franklin.

The Board of Elections challenge hearing will take place next Thursday, August 22nd at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of Elections office.

The meeting could include an executive session, which would be closed to the public.
