Hillsboro Drops 27-21 Decision to WCH

Hillsboro wound up losing their fourth straight game- however, they showed true grit through four quarters, only to drop a 27-21 decision to the visiting Washington C H Blue Lions.

.

Court House scored early in the first quarter on an Eli Lynch 16 yard touchdown reception to take a 7-0 lead. The Indians answered with a 70 yard drive capped by a short touchdown run by Mark Gallimore to even the score.

.

The second quarter saw Eli Lynch make the play of the game for the Blue Lions. Faced with a fourth and twenty-five situation from their own five yard line, Lynch lined up in punt formation. Then, to the surprise of everyone, he ran out of the end zone for a first down to keep the drive alive! On the ensuing play quarterback Ethan Rodgers-Wright rolled to his right and found wide receiver Calum Brown open for a 67 yard touchdown bomb. The extra point failed and Washington held a 13-7 halftime lead.

.

The teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter to make the score 21-14. After the teams again traded touchdowns in the fourth quarter, Hillsboro got a key stop to give them a chance to tie (and, with a successful conversion, take the lead). Unfortunately, the Indians threw a late interception to derail their dreams of a comeback.

.

Coach Jack O'Rourke credited his players for rebounding from a tough loss last week at Chillicothe and hanging with an athletic Blue Lion squad. Hillsboro, now (0-3) in FAC action, will next host undefeated Jackson.
