Fatal Stabbing Under Investigation by Chillicothe Police

A Chillicothe woman is dead as the result of a stabbing.

According to a release from the Chillicothe Police Department, officers were notified of a possible traffic accident near the East Main Street BP station, shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14th.

Officers and EMS personnel arrived at the scene to find that the driver, Gloria Speakman, 40, of Chillicothe, had been stabbed in the area of her head.

During the investigation, it was determined there had been a disturbance prior to the accident at America’s Best Value Inn, also located on East Main Street.

Ms. Speakman was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Grant Hospital. She is reported to have succumbed to her injury two days later at Grant Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing by the Chillicothe Police Detective Division. Possible charges are pending the result of the investigation.

During the incident, Police say Chad Kuntz, 40, of Chillicothe, was arrested for an Adult Parole Authority Holder.
