Ross Sheriff Deputy Injured When Fleeing Vehicle Slams Into His Cruiser

A Ross County Sheriff Deputy is recovery from injuries suffered when the cruiser he was sitting in, was slammed into by another vehicle that was fleeing from Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers at a high rate of speed. The sheriff's office Facebook page confirmed the incident, which injured Sgt. Brenton Davidson.

The crash occurred on U.S. Route 35 near Chillicothe, at 3:12am Saturday.

The car being pursued in the chase was driven by 45-year-old Marvin Myers of Waverly. Myers was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center via MedFlight with serious injuries. Deputy Davidson, age 34 of Chillicothe, was transported to Grant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Myers' two passengers, 41-year-old Renae Myers of Columbus and 47-year-old Scotty Howard of Chillicothe were both injured as well. Mrs. Myers was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center, with non-life threatening injuries, while Howard was transported to Grant Medical Center with serious injuries.
