Miami Trace Panthers Allow Jackson Ironmen to Remain Undefeated

The Jackson Ironmen rattled off 41 unanswered points to remain undefeated Friday night in their 48-14 victory over the Miami Trace Panthers.

Jackson scored first in the game as they took their opening drive down the field on a four play 45 yard drive that took just fifty five seconds as starting QB Jacob Winters found Tristan Prater on a 16 yard Touchdown reception, the first of six receptions for 98 yards. Miami Trace, however on their second drive of the night, the first was a four and out, as they sustained a 2:53 drive that took seven plays and totaled 58 yards as Weston Melvin found Gage Miller in the end zone on an 11 yard pass, the PAT was good to make it 7-7.

The ensuing Miami Trace kickoff was fumbled and the Panthers recovered leading to a one play drive that led to seven more points when Melvin hit Josh Gilmore on a 30 yard TD pass to give the Panthers a 14-7 lead and what seemed to be the momentum in the game...It would be their last points the Panthers would score.

After the Panthers took the lead, Jackson would score 41 unanswered points starting with under one minute left in the first quarter when Prater caught his second touchdown of the night, this time from Evan Spires who took over the quarterback duties after the starter went down with a leg injury.
