Ross County Records Third COVID-19 Death

The Ross County Health District made their Friday morning (7/3/20) update, stating that a third Ross County resident that had tested positive for COVID-19, had died. No other information about the victim was being released by the health district.

Four new confirmed cases were also being reported Friday morning, with two of these being state prison inmates and the other two patients being from the county residential population.

The health district is urging residents to continue taking necessary precautions to limit spread of the virus now that many businesses and workplaces are reopened.

A Ross County Health District press release states that "Through investigation of COVID-19 cases that occur in Ross County, 19% of the cases have been confirmed as community spread where the case investigation could not link the positive case with exposure to other known positive cases of COVID-19. This indicates that the COVID-19 virus remains active within Ross County."

Health officials say to contain COVID-19 spread, we should frequently wash our hands, wear a face covering when in public, maintain six feet distancing from others, and stay at home if you feel sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
