Fayette Commissioners OK Transportation Contract

The Fayette County Commissioners have approved a contract between the Fayette County Department of Job and Family Services and Fayette Community Action to provide transportation services to qualified recipients in Fayette County.

.

Fayette County Transportation Services will be paid at a rate of $2.35 per eligible passenger mile. The maximum amount payable under the contract is $45,000. The contract period runs from October 1st of 2019 through September 30th of 2020, and is funded by Title XX funds.

.

The Commissioners also accepted the terms of the fiscal year 2019 Ohio Airport Matching Grant Program, awarded by ODOT. ODOT’s Office of Aviation has awarded just over $88,300 for use at the Fayette Airport. The funds will go toward to reconstruction of a parallel taxiway and an obstruction survey for an airport runway.

.

The Commissioners also entered into an agreement with the State’s Department of Development for Road Work Development Assistance. The $1-million sum is for road development located northeast of State Route 729 and the intersection of State Route 435. Another similar agreement, but with ODOT’s Jobs and Commerce Economic Development, will provide an additional $200,000 for that same project.
