Hillsboro Wins Again Over Williamsburg

What a difference a year makes! Last year Hillsboro and Williamsburg combined for 90 points in the Indians 55-35 win. However, 2019 presented an entirely different scenario. The Indians, playing the second of three straight road games, overcame two turnovers and a sluggish first half offense to edge the Wildcats 14-9.

.

Because of the sputtering offense, Hillsboro trailed 9-0 at the half. However, Mark Gallimore, the star of the East Clinton win a week earlier, did not play in the first half. He was, to the Indians, a catalyst that along with quarterback Justin Spears, kept the chains moving in the third and fourth quarters.

.

In fact, it was Gallimore's dash down the left sideline that set up Spears' one yard touchdown run with less that fifteen seconds remaining that sealed the win. With the victory, Hillsboro improves to (3-1).

.

On the other hand, Williamsburg suffers their first loss.

.

The first half of the season will end for the Indians next Friday with a trip to Clermont Northeastern.
