Lebanon Man Killed in Two Vehicle Crash on I-71 in Fayette County


The Fayette County Sheriff's Office has provided more information in regard to a fatal two-vehicle crash in Fayette County from Wednesday that forced two lanes of I-71 south to close.


The Sheriff's Office says the crash took place shortly after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18th when a 2015 International box truck, operated by Harry Ector, 25, of Lebanon, collided with the rear of a semi tractor-trailer along I-71 in Jefferson Township, near milepost 67.


Ector's vehicle sustained heavy damage from the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being extracted from the vehicle's cab.


The driver of the big rig, Gyalsten Yeshi, 41 of Oakland, California, was uninjured.


The crash caused two lanes of Interstate 71 south to close for around 3 hours while the scene was cleared.
