Dashcam Video Captures Florida Deputy Saving Baby's Life

A Florida deputy is being hailed as a hero after his quick-thinking helped save the life of an infant. K9 Deputy Jeremie Nix was driving home in his squad car after his shift when he was flagged down by another driver while waiting at a stoplight. He immediately pulled a U-Turn to assist the motorists.

Dashcam footage released by the Marion County Sheriff's Office on Facebook shows Nix rushing to the aid of the two frantic women on the side of the road. One of the women told Nix that her three-month-old baby Kingston was "was completely unresponsive."

Nix grabbed the infant and started "performing several life-saving measures on the child." When his attempts to resuscitate the child failed he "decided to put the child in his own patrol car and rush him to Ocala Regional Medical Center."

Nix told dispatchers that he was not "waiting on medics" and that he was just half of a mile from the emergency room.

The baby's mother, Nechole Crowell, told the Ocala Star-Banner that Nix "just took off and he left us there, and I just followed suit."

The Sheriff's Office said that Kingston was released from the hospital is going to make a full recovery and added that "that because of K9 Deputy Nix's actions, Baby Kingston is alive today."

We are happy to report that Baby Kingston is doing very well and doctors say he will make a full recovery!! Doctors also said that because of K9 Deputy Nix's actions, Baby Kingston is alive today. We are tremendously proud of Deputy Nix and we can already see that he and Baby Kingston will have a deep connection that will last a lifetime!!
