J.C. Penney Closing 8 Stores

A national retailer plans to close a handful of stores, and one of them is in Ohio.

J.C. Penney is closing eight stores this year, including one in central Ohio. it's the location in Mount Vernon, at Knox Village Square. 

The company says it wants to focus more on online sales.

The eight store closures are estimated to result in nearly 500 job cuts. Operations at those locations should be completely finished by May.
